Just ask your kids, they'll tell you!

We have been back home for a little over a week but had family staying with us last week and then I was diagnosed with bronchitis. This tends to happen about 50% of the time when my allergies get out of control or I get an upper respiratory infection; asthma is no joke people. Basically my lungs overreact (right now it's ragweed and wild fire smoke). I remember being a teenager and asking Dr. Tom "if I was going to outgrow this would we have seen signs by now" and being completely crushed when he said yes. At this point in my life it's just normal and that can be a bit of an issue. This past January I ignored it too long and ended up with walking pneumonia. I seriously thought I had a good grip on my asthma and not realizing how sick I was shook me. Needless to say I went to the doctor this time as soon as I realized it was starting to move into my chest and we were able to catch it early.
You know there are a lot of other things in life like this. Things we think we have under-control but they slip up on us. Things
we don't think are a problem until the doctor, our spouse, a friend, or even our kids help us realize it is. Maybe you're drinking entirely too much caffeine in a day. Maybe you're yelling too much. Maybe you're not paying enough attention to your a certain part of your household (dishes/laundry). Maybe you're not planning well-rounded, healthy meals for your family. Maybe you're entirely too consumed by a need for "me time" and it's no longer healthy. Maybe your budget is out of control or you don't even have one. Maybe you thought it wasn't a problem but after time, it is now. Ask those mirrors around you (spouse, kids, friends...) if there's something you're not sure about; your kids will be more than happy to tell you!
The good news is none of these issues are unfixable! And once you realize there was a problem it's a little easier to catch it early next time. We just have to not get too comfortable and to pray for help! God is not some distant uncaring being. The Bible calls Him our Father. He genuinely cares about even the "little things." Sometimes help is going to require an inward change. Sometimes we just need to train our kids in jobs they're big enough to do. Sometimes our time constraints and our budget will mean we hire a job to be done for us. There are a lot of enterprising women who might have a solution for our problem. You and I were not meant to do this alone. Find a Titus 2 lady to ask her advice and pray for wisdom and help. Until next time.

Matthew 7:7-11
7“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
